The one in front is a Cucumber Magnolia (magnolia acuminata). North America’s biggest and hardiest magnolia, it will grow as far as north as the greater Toronto area. It can get to be quite large! The flowers are green, it is one of the parents for the yellow magnolia hybrids.
Behind it is a Red Oak, unfortunately in decline. Both trees are about 140 years old.
