Why ‘Acair Fearann’?  Word play, it means ‘Anchor Farm’ in Gaelic.  Why the anchor has been a symbol for several generations, I am not sure.  Although in Christian symbolism anchors do relate to hope: “who have claimed His protection by grasping the hope set before us. That hope we hold. It is like an anchor for our lives, an anchor safe and sure.” (Heb. 6:19)
